4worldlovers: Evangelia Antoniou was born and raised in Athens. She graduated from the Midwifery Department of the Higher School of Health and Welfare Professionals, Katee of Athens (1980), the National School of Public Health, MSc. in Applied Public Health (2007) and holds a PhD from the Department of Social Policy of the Panteion University of Social and Political sciences (2012). Since 1983 (Laboratory Associate) and 1994 (permanent) she is an Assistant Professor of Midwifery at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens.

Evangelia Antoniou has published research papers and reviews on midwifery issues in Greek and international peer reviewed journals. She is a member of the Society of Family Planning and the Association "Friends of Breast-feeding". Since 2015 she is a member of the Governing Board and Vice President of the Research Committee of ASPETE (School of Pedagogical and Technological Education).
